The fact that the English Premier League is the championship with the greatest economic power in the whole world does not constitute anything new. Clubs like Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal, and Tottenham. Are the ones who regularly spend more than anyone else year after year. This makes competition from rivals impossible. And in this way, all the stars are lured by the countless millions that are offered in the Premier League economy. But the real and big difference between the Premier League and other championships in Europe is exactly at the bottom of the table.

Especially among the most modest, those who have just been promoted from a lower category. It is there, if you look, that you can understand that the British live a completely different reality to that of other championships. Thanks to a much more equal distribution of wealth and television rights between the teams that make up the competition. This year, things have become even clearer. If we simply consider the clubs that have risen to the football elite in the five most important European championships.

The “cake” goes to the English Premier League, with a terrible advantage compared to its rivals. In total, between Fulham, Bournemouth and Nottingham Forest, they have spent 231.3 million euros to bring players closer. The difference with the other elite championships in Europe is colossal, but to think that the closest “rival” of the Premier is Serie A. Where the clubs promoted this season, Monza, Cremonese, and Lecce, have spent 49.3 million euros together.

Premier league

In the Spanish championship, the clubs promoted this season in the Primera Division have spent 28.4 million euros. With Almeria, Valladolid, and Girona mostly thinking of keeping last season’s group and spending less. Spain is the third championship in terms of spending by clubs that have climbed this season in the elite. Next comes the Bundesliga, closer to 12 million euros, and closes the five most important championships in France. Where the clubs coming from “below” have spent only 10 million euros to strengthen their teams, but the disparity between the Premier League and other championships also lies in the facts.

Thus, Nottingham Forest, one of the three clubs promoted this season to the English Premier League economy. Has spent approximately 150 million euros to bring 18 players closer!  Only Chelsea have spent more than Forest, with almost 280 million euros. Nottingham has left behind clubs such as Bayern Munich, Paris SG, Juventus and Real Madrid. Even Fulham, another club promoted to the Premier this season, has spent a full 56.4 million euros, while of the three clubs from the “Championship”. Bournemouth has spent less, about 27 million euros. If the other important leagues in Europe do not change their approach to the market. It will be very difficult for them to compete with the Premier and keep their talent.

  1. Howdy! I know this is kinda off topic nevertheless I’d figured I’d ask. Would you be interested in trading links or maybe guest authoring a blog article or vice-versa? My website covers a lot of the same subjects as yours and I think we could greatly benefit from each other. If you are interested feel free to shoot me an e-mail. I look forward to hearing from you! Excellent blog by the way!

  2. Thanks for another wonderful article. Where else could anybody get that kind of info in such a perfect way of writing? I have a presentation next week, and I’m on the look for such information.
